Feature & Follow Friday 05/10/2012

Welcome to another edition of Feature & Follow Friday brought to you by Parajunkee's View
& Alison Can Read.

This weeks question is:
This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day, in celebration, what are some of your favorite bookswith strong mother/child relationships?

A.  Wow, this is such a hard question. I mean the last book I read with a strong mother
daughter relationship was The Last Echo by Kim Derting. In the Hunger Games, Katniss's
mother is all but non-existent for most of the series. I guess we also have Justine and Cat
from the Cat & Bones series. That relationship has lasted through some extremely
hard times and now they are vampires together as well. I'm all for recommendations
for a good mother daughter story.

Can you think of any books that have a strong mother/child relationship?
I am totally going to hop and see what you answers are!

I love new followers either via GFC or Link, or both!

Have a great Friday!

  1. This was a really hard question! It's hard to pick a mother-daughter relationship when most of the books you read don't have a mother involved, lol!

    Happy Friday!

    1. I just thought of another series I love. River of Time. Gabi and Lia's mother is simply amazing and an awesome fighter as well.

Thanks for hopping by Makayla :")

  4. It was a hard question. Deb Caletti always has really strong mother daughter relationships, so I featured one of her books. This will be my first feature and follow, and, seeing as I'm a new follower, I would love if you would return the the favor? If you'd like of course:)

  5. I had a hard time coming up with a strong (and healthy, loving) mother-kid relationship. It seems that is a rare thing these days.

  6. It was pretty tough thinking about an answer to this question seeing that my recent reads don't really have mother-daughter relationships. It's weird that's the case when all I read is YA. Happy Friday, Shelley! :)

    Old follower,
Stop by my FF post? :)

  7. This was a tough question! I had to look at my stacks of books before I finally came up with a few (I'm still so mad I forgot Little Women and Molly Weasley though!). In regards to HG, I think it could be argued that Katniss and Primrose had a strong mother/child relationship -- even though they're sisters, Katniss was definitely the mother figure for Prim.

    Happy friday!

  11. I actually struggled to find a book that showed a strong mother/daughter relationship. I haven't read The Last Echo (although I do own The Body Finder!) yet.
