A shifter who can’t be tamed. An enchantress who can’t let go. Will fate give them a second chance at love?

Viola gave up everything to master the art of enchantment. But even her formidable magic powers can’t protect her from the wrath of a faerie king when she’s framed for a terrible crime.

Brock is a bear shifter with a bad attitude and a worse temper. When Viola vanished from his life seven years ago, he swore he would never love again. But when she breaks into his downtown bar searching for clues, he can’t just let her walk straight into danger.

Foul creatures are killing the fae one by one, and Viola is the only one who can stop them. But if she can’t catch the real culprits before the new moon rises, the fae court will sentence her to death.

Viola needs Brock's feral instincts to track down the truth. The closer they get, the more she's tempted by his fierce strength and wild nature. But she broke his heart once before. Will he take a second chance at love?

Her Second Chance Shifter, by L. MacNaughton, is a feel-good urban fantasy novel is packed with nonstop magic mayhem, snarky humor, fighting monsters and saving the world, with a sweet love story (PG-13) and a happy ending. 7 years ago, Viola was offered an opportunity of a lifetime after she helped save Fae Prince Ademar. If she travels via portal to the Midsummer Fae court, she will be trained how to be the sorceress that she always longed to be.

After writing a note to her mother and her boyfriend, Brock, Viola found that being trained in being an enchanter was worth the heart break. In the end, while it was a good choice, she learned about her own magic while trying to find a cure for her mother who is suffering with a serious illness. Unfortunately for Viola, she's in hot water after making a deal with Sylvain to make boxes that are nearly indestructible. The boxes are being used for doing bad things to innocent creatures.

Viola is then given an order by the King and Queen of Midsummer who she trained with. If Viola doesn't track down the snake shifter, and destroy the boxes he is using to capture fae like pixies, she will be sentenced to death in 3 days. Meanwhile, Broke hasn't gotten over the hurt that Viola left with her departure. His brother Jimmy is dead, his bar is suffering, and even his friend Zane, who is a Demon, can't help save the bar from bankruptcy.

Oh, and the bar is a nice comfy underground hideaway for those who are paranormals like Brock, who is a bear shifter. Something that Brock never told Viola. Then again, there's a whole lot of that going on since Viola never told Brock about her magical abilities. When Viola vanished from his life seven years ago, he swore he would never love again. But when she breaks into his downtown bar searching for clues, he can’t just let her walk straight into danger. And now, they both have a second chance at a happy ending!

*Thoughts* So, apparently there are 2 other books in this format, one on the author webpage, and the second that will be coming out next month called Her Fae Fake Fiance. Author said the next book will feature Prince Ademar and a yet to be named human as well as guest appearances by Viola and Brock. This is an easy story to get into. There's not a whole lot of love scenes, or hateful feelings towards any of the characters except for the villain and he totally deserved it.
