Welcome to Gizmo's Reviews 2 year Anniversary Week Celebration!

Welcome to Gizmo's Reviews 2 year Anniversary Week Celebration!

I'm humbled and thankful to all those who have stopped by my blog and commented on my posts, or offered some amazing suggestions to better my blogging experience over the past year. I know that GFC numbers mean absolutely nothing in the general scheme of things, but, I'm personally happy to have reached 1,000 followers over the past 3 months.

Facts

On June 21, 2011, Gizmo's Reviews was born on a whim. At the time of its creation, I was in the process of writing and finishing (2) books that have since gone unpublished and are currently sitting in separate shoe boxes hoping for a revisit in the near future or maybe someone to read it and edit it for me and self publish. At the time of its creation, I was a member of Goodreads (since 2009), and in that time, I found that many of my friends had already started blogging and participating in many awesome Meme's which gave me the strange idea that I could do the same thing and be successful.

Gizmo's Reviews has evolved into much more than I could have ever dreamed of or imagined. Seriously, I really didn't think that it would be like having a part time job until the frustration started setting in and I nearly walked away. Along the way, I have made some amazing connections, while losing touch with others, including the person who designed the header for my blog.

If you weren't already aware of this fact, Gizmo is actually the name of my 7 year old cat who I don't know what I would do without. He's been my constant companion, source of continued entertainment as well as some holy shit! moments. It was actually my sister's idea that I should name the blog after my cat as a kind of tongue n cheek joke. The joke is on you little sister!

Over the course of the past year, I attended my first book convention and signing in St. Augustine, Florida that turned out to be a major success thanks to the efforts of Jennifer @ Books Make Me Happy Reviews.com. I met Jenese from Readers Confessions, authors Jess Haines, Pamela Palmer, Kristen Callihan, Amanda Carlson, Jennifer Armentrout, & James Tuck just to name a few.

Jennifer has since changed the venue (Daytona Beach, FL) and the name  to Coastal Magic Convention and I'm hoping for the same kind of turn out from bloggers, book lovers, and authors alike. I think the best day was Saturday's signing day where it was open to the public and I came away with a bundle of awesome books!

Speaking of authors! Although the past year has seen some horrible conflicts between bloggers, reviewers and writers, I've stayed relatively unscathed by staying out of the melee and spotlight because I'm still a relatively unknown blogger/reviewer compared to others.

I have had the honor of receiving authors like Jennifer Estep, Rhiannon Frater, Amanda Bonilla, Amanda Carlson, Cecy Robson, Dakota Banks, Jess Haines, Chloe Jacobs, Linda Robertson, and Amanda McNeil just to name a few. I have participated in Book Tours, Blog Hops, and have given out numerous prizes and books which I hope to continue over the next year as long as I stay sane and healthy.

Publishers shout-out: I am  grateful to Kensington, Spencer Hill Press, Harlequin, Egmont USA, Harper Collins including Katherine Tegen, Harper Teen & William Morrow, Disney-Hyperion for opening it's doors to bloggers again, Orbit, NAL Penguin (including ROC and ACE), Simon & Schuster including Gallery Books, Doubleday, Harper Voyager, AVON, Pocket Books, Month9Books, Bloomsbury USA and many others who I haven't mentioned.

Thank you for allowing me access to your titles via NetGalley and Edelweiss which I learned about @ ArmChair BEA! Thank you for your patience while I'm buried under unwritten reviews and dealing with family stress. I look forward to a continued working relationship for as long as I am able to continue blogging.

What's next for Gizmo's Reviews?

1. I'm looking for some serious suggestions in regards to gaining the interest of my followers and maintaining it and perhaps finding other Meme's to participate in.
2. I am looking forward to finally reaching 100k page views which would give my blog legitimacy.
3. I am looking forward to working with other bloggers in an effort to cross promote our blogs and participate in more blog hops, book giveaways, and author interviews and promotions.
4. I look forward to the doors finally being opened to me @ Penguin, MacMillian, and other publishers who have continually denied me access to their titles.
5. Above all, I look forward to continuing to have fun and entertaining as possible for my followers!

As a way of thanking you for following me, I am giving away (2) copies of Jennifer Estep's Midnight Frost! I'm grateful to Vida @ Kensington for sending me these books, and to Jennifer for sharing one of her last copies with me which I'm keeping for myself. If you win, and want to choose another book instead, that is perfectly acceptable.

This giveaway is soooo easy.

2. You MUST, unfortunately, be a US or Canadian Resident as I can't afford Int'l shipping.
