Author Interview & Review with Amanda Carlson

Gizmo's Reviews is honored to host Amanda Carlson and her Full Blood book tour!

If you haven't read my review yet, you can click on the link below!

Amanda has graciously agreed to answer a few of my pressing questions about her writing and Full Blooded.

Let's get started!

GR - When did you begin writing?
AC - I've been a writer for as long as I can remember. I started writing fiction in earnest about twelve years ago. It's been a long journey to get to where I'm at today. But, I wouldn't change any of it. It's made me the writer I am and I couldn't be more grateful.

GR - What brought you to the paranormal genre?
AC - World Building. I fell into reading the genre about five years ago and loved discovering a new world in each book I picked up. For an author, there's nothing more exciting than building something brand new. At first I had no idea if I'd be any good at it, but found my voice here and I love writing it.

GR - If you could be any paranormal or have any one supernatural talent, or ability, what would it be? Why?
AC - I'd love to fly, but I wouldn't want to be a vampire. So maybe a shifter who could change into anything. The freedom of flying would be so awesome. You could go anywhere and do almost anything.

GR - Tell us why readers will enjoy your new release:
AC - My series is full of action, humor and heart. I hope there's something for everyone here. I love writing action as much as I love writing the smexy stuff. I also have my own take on wolves and vamps, so you won't be getting the same thing.

GR- If you book(s) were being made into a movie, who would you cast for the leading roles? Why?
AC - Funny enough, I'm not a very visual person when I write. Each character is a complete amalgamation which includes their personalities, physical attributes, voice, likes, dislikes, characteristics, but it doesn't manifest in a physical way. So, coming up with actors and actresses would be difficult for me, because it would be hard to get it just right. I'd rather leave that up to the readers. Who would you guys like to see (for those of you who've read BLOODED or an early release of FULL BLOODED?)

GR - What is your favorite comfort foods?
AC - My comfort foods all have smells! Fresh baked cookies or banana bread. A roasted chicken and potatoes for dinner. Homemade chicken noodle soup. That's for sure a favorite. I make it with homemade flat bread. Delish!

GR - What is your favorite place to write?
AC- I write in a sunroom off my bedroom. I love it. It's bright, sunny, and happy.

GR - If there was that one person you would love to meet, who is it and why?
AC - Hmmm, there are so many people I'd like to sit down with and pick their brain. If I had only one choice, I'd have to go with Joan of Arc. I'd want to know what the real story was. I love history. It would be a thrill.

GR- Favorite movie movie of all time?
AC - The Princess Bride

GR - What is your favorite TV show>
AC- Battlestar Gallactica

Thank you Amanda for taking the time to sit down with me while you are busy on your Full Blooded Blog Tours!

Thanks so much for hosting me! It was a pleasure to stop by and chat with all of you. I hope you enjoy the series!

  1. Yup, I want to fly & be a shifter too! Not a bat though, maybe one of those badass flying animals. And who doesn't love cookies and banana bread?! Yum!
