*Review* Blood from a Silver Cross (Kat Redding #4) by E.S. Moore

*My Thoughts*

Blood from a Silver Cross is the fourth installment in the Kat Redding series and apparently there will be a fifth novel releasing in June 2014 called Souls of the Damned. Kat, if you haven't already started reading this series, is called Lady Death by werewolves and vampires alike for her desire to wipe them from the face of the planet. She knows only one real truth; anyone stepping out of line and attempting to hurt her or her friends, will get a silver bullet to the head.

The Kat Redding series is set in alternative reality Columbus, Ohio were Purebloods (humans) are free to walk the streets during the day, while only the daring and stupid go out at night where the vampires, and werewolves roam freely looking for their next meal, or their next sexual partner. These are the streets that Kat Redding patrols nightly protecting the innocent from the savage beasts, and her own demons as well.

As a follower of the Kat Redding series, I can honestly tell you that ES Moore leaves you wanting more. More of Kat's determination, spunk, and ability to kick ass and take names. More of Kat's desire in finding peace and harmony with her inner beast that she's lived with ever since being forced into becoming a vampire and her brother becoming a werewolf. More of Kat's enemies finding a painful death at Lady Death's hands, and more time spent with Ethan and young werewolf Jeremy Lincoln who she's sworn to protect against all enemies.

Kat has so much on her plate these days, that it is only a matter of time before everything comes crashing down upon her head. Kat has been forced into becoming a personal assassin for the Vampire Countess Baset because she killed her lover. Another vampire, Mephisto, has the desire to watch, track, and follow Kat all over Columbus but nobody really understands what he actually wants from her. She has a demon in Beligral holding something really valuable over Kat's head to the point where she wonders how much longer she can hold him off. She has two separate werewolf Alpha's in her life, Jonathan Alucard and Adrian, who both make things especially interesting and challenging for Kat to refuse them. Adrian is especially hard to grasp and like because of his actions against Kat in Blessed by a Demon's Mark, and the fact that he wants her as his mate.

From the start of this series, Kat has mostly been a solo artist in that she truly dislikes and distrusts working with anyone and tries to keep everyone at arms length for fear of letting go of her emotions. Ever since escaping from the shadow-paradise of Delai, things have settled down for Kat, and her desire to get along with her inner demon and finding a better way to feed, is at the top of her list. Ethan has not only been one of Kat's most endearing and long lasting friends, he also is responsible for maintaining and fixing her weapons as well as searching for a cure to her feeding habits.

As one aspect of Kat's life is faced head on in the Left Hand and defeated, several key issues and problems are still on the horizon and it will be very, very interesting as to where Moore takes Kat and crew from here. I am not a huge fan of the added female werewolf to the mix in Kiera, but I shall allow myself time to breathe and let Moore show me that she can be trustworthy when all is said and done.
