In a few days, I’ll officially be the Laurel clan chief—but it comes at a heavy cost. My human family, the McKyes, think I’m dead, and the only family I have left is my surly cousin, Theron. Plus the occasional visit from my dead mother.
Gathering the fifteen clans of Atlantis is more tasking than I thought. Thank fate that Ian has my back, otherwise keeping the peace would be a total disaster. I want to give him my heart, too, but without an official likeness, or spontaneous pairing, it’s only wishful thinking. To make matters worse, someone out there has the formula to create human-Atlantian hybrids. For a hefty price.
Certain chiefs are so desperate to increase our population that they refuse to see the price.

Atlantis Reborn is the third installment in author Gloria Craw's Atlantis Rising series. 18-year old Alison McKyes, the protagonist of this trilogy, has to make a choice. A choice that will change her life forever. Since she is a descendant of the fabled city of Atlantis, the only one of her clan still alive, and she will soon become clan leader of the Laurels. Which means that she will have to find a way to leave her human family, the McKyes, and her brother Alex behind. A choice that is both heart breaking, but necessary.

Alison is a thoughtmaker. She can implant thoughts into multiple Dewing as well as humans. Alison's journey will take her from Vegas, to Cornwall in the United Kingdom. Here Alison will become one of the 15 clan chiefs, if she survives. Some of the clans are not her allies, and they don't want to see someone so young take the reigns of a clan that was shattered by a devious and cunning adversary who still hangs over everything in this book. This is one of the more interesting storylines in the story. The other is an even darker one that threatens the Dewings very existence, and may send them into extinction like the Caribbean Monk Seal.

The other question is whether or not Alison will be given the choice of who she is bound to for life, or will fate choose someone for her instead? Alison and Ian are in love, but to break them up would be catastrophic for both of them. In this world, crazy things like that happen regularly. Just ask Alison's cousin Theron Falco his thoughts about likeness. I have to say that my favorite things about this story are Theron, Lillian, and Ian. I love grumpy, adorable Theron who should be working for the NSA denying the Chinese, North Koreans, and Russians access to our personal information. I love the cranky, book nerd Lillian who really comes out of her shell this time out. Lillian has been a friend and a supporter of Alison for some time now. Ian, well, Ian is just the perfect partner for Alison to fall madly, deeply in love with.
