Adir has won a major victory. With the death of one of the brother’s wives and Darcie’s change to immortality, the rebel leader has come very close to damaging The Alliance beyond repair.

Fortunately, with the help of an unexpected ally, Darcie managed to escape Adir before he could do the unthinkable and force a bond–stealing her from Des forever.

Now, Darcie is on the run. She must stay hidden to avoid capture and, at the same time, try to master her powers. There is nothing she wants more than to make Adir pay for all he has done, but she must be patient. If any of her abilities can bring down the murderous immortal, she needs to learn to wield them.

New players enter the immortal game and provide invaluable help to The Alliance. Old friends and allies return to play their part in the future of the world. Des and Darcie are reunited and plan their next actions together, and half-breeds and immortals alike work together to bring down the rebel tyrant.

Enraptured is the fourth and final book in the Immortal Chronicles series by author Samantha Britt. This story actually does something the first (3) installments didn't do. It alternates narratives between Des and Darcie Abernathy. For Des, it has been 2 long days since Darcie was betrayed and taken by Adir who forced her into immortality. It has been 200 years since Des has seen his soul mate. Numerous tragedies and untimely deaths have stood in his way. Now, just as his feelings for Darcie are revealed, he may have lost her forever.

Darcie knows 3 things. Bella is dead. She's no longer human. She may be he key to ending the rebellion. She's been intentionally transitioned to Immortal so that Adir could bond with her and use her against the brothers Thane, Des, and Lome. A bonded pair share powers and he could use Darcie's abilities without her consent. But, thanks to a surprising ally, Darcie escaped and found by Alexander who refuses to allow her to return to Greece until they can figure out a plan to keep her safe.

The most shocking part of Darcie's transformation is that Des is now without a soul mate. The transformation to immortality stops the cycle of soul mates being reborn. Darcie's hopes in finding out about her abilities might lie in an ancient text called the Veritas. The book holds information regarding magic and its properties. If Darcie, Alexander, and Jennifer can find the book, they might find a way to help Darcie fight Adir and end the rebellion. There's a whole lot of surprising revelations that occur. Darcie is actually a descendant of (2) Immortal bloodlines; Charmian, and Eros which would explain why men are attracted to her.

There's also a new character, Brian, a devastatingly handsome, charming and flirtatious vampire who aids Darcie in her battle against Adir. Darcie slowly transforms into a strong and powerful immortal, and embracing the inner potential she has with her power, with the aid of The Veritas. Her relationship with Des finally comes around to the point where readers have been hoping it would end. There is no doubt that they are both pulled towards the other. There is no doubt that Darcie is Desmond's soul mate. Des is also the only person in this entire book who actually apologizes to Darcie for what has happened to her.

Enraptured ends in a way that wraps up things quite nicely. I liked that Darcie and her mother sewed up any lingering animosity for Jennifer leaving her behind. I liked that Darcie and Marie end in a good place. Especially at how awful Marie treated Darcie when she broke up with Kevin. I was thrown for a loop by a kiss between Darcie and another character. Thankfully, the author has chosen to write a book, Envied, featuring Gregory Fang and Paige Green who has become part of Darcie's inner circle. I think the two belong together nicely.
