My name is Rylee and I am a Tracker.

Crossing into Ogre country is dangerous when you’re a polite, respectful gal. Which means I already know I’m in for a wild ride, despite the back up I’ve brought along.

Even when things start to go sideways, and enemies close on us from every side, I still believe we have the upper hand.

How very blind can one person be when it comes to a salvage?

I’m about to find out.

Blind Savage, by author Shannon Mayer, is the Fifth installment in the Rylee Adamson series. First, let me say that since I turned a bit older this year, I have decided to do what I want when it comes to reading what books I want to read. You never know when it might be your last day as a reviewer. If that means going back to earlier years from some of my favorite authors, so be it. Second, the Rylee Adamson books are not meant to be a standalone. As always, I suggest that you read these books in order so that you don't miss important things and events and characters.

This book begins where Shadowed Threads finished. It is time for Rylee and her friends to leave London and return home. As a reminder, Rylee is a Tracker who has spent the past 10 years trying to bring home lost children. She's also Immune to magic. She began her quest after her own sister, Berget, was taken and lost to her until she recently found out what happen to her. Rylee has collected a group of interesting individuals. Eve is a Harpy who has been seconded to Rylee to teach. Liam is a former FBI agent turned werewolf turned Guardian who is Rylee's lover.

Pamela is a young and very powerful witch who Rylee has decided to take under her wing. Alex is a werewolf who is stuck in form and can't shift back to human. He's goofy, and adorable, and Rylee's protector. There is also Doran, who is a Daywalking vampire who provides Rylee with information in lieu of a bit of her blood. There's also Blaz, a dragon who has chosen to bind himself to Rylee because he knows that she's the trigger that will bring all sorts of supernatural together against the demon, Orion.

As a refresher, I had to go back to my own notes which surrounds Rylee and a prophecy and a very dangerous demon known as Orion who wants to rule the world. Rylee has been slowly coming to terms with her role in what's to come, while also dealing with her sister, as well as another powerful vampire named Faris who is in the running to become the next leader of the vampires. Whoever finds the blood, becomes the next leader. But let's get beyond this and into the meat and potatoes of the story. Faris has no reservation of forcing Rylee to do his bidding.

As Rylee is returning home, she learns that Eve has been taken by unicorns. Yes, unicorns. It seems as though their youngest, Calliope, has been taken and it is up to Rylee to do what's she's best at; find her and bring her home. This is truly an action packed story with Ogre's, and Trolls, and a Roc that seems to be standing in the way of Rylee rescuing Calliope. Up until now, I really wanted Rylee to put Milly down. Yes, I realize she's pregnant, but she's done some bad crap. Maybe this is the first sign of redemption. We shall see.

I will leave this final comment. There are major implications for future books so this one is a bit of a bridge. And the implications are extreme, so I'm definitely going to read the next one. Which you will find below!

War is coming, and she must decide how badly she wants
the vampires on her side. Or as a thorn in her side

"My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker."

When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.

Bringing my allies together as war approaches is my number one concern. But that means I have to play nice with a vampire who is blackmailing me. If I don’t, I’m screwed and my family is dead.

But I don't play nice. And I have a backup plan. Kinda.

Throw in some new weapons being developed that work around supernaturals and I have more problems than I can handle on my own.

Good thing I have a kick ass team.

Even if they are on the other side of the world from me.

"If you stand for nothing . . . you'll fall for anything."

Tracker, by author Shannon Mayer, is the Sixth installment in the Rylee Adamson series. 26-year-old Rylee Adamson is a tracker who spent 10 years finding lost children, including her own sister Berget who is now known as the Child Empress. Rylee is also Immune to magic, as well as the person who is supposed to unite the world against an evil known as Orion. As I said above, you really need to consider these books tied together.

This book picks up right after the previous one and we are drawn further into Rylee's pain and fear; heartbreak from the darker, painful events of the last book and fear for what the future may bring - and its impact to her life and loved ones. After Giselle's surprising reading of all of Rylee's allies, Rylee finds herself under attack by bullets that somehow can track supernaturals. Rylee once more has to split the team there is just too much for her to do alone.

Faris is coming to take Rylee on her oath to kill the Child Empress (Rylee’s sister, Berget) and to install Faris as the ruler of the vampires. Rylee, with Alex by her side, needs information from Doran first and heads there. Faris comes for Rylee and she embarks on this journey which takes them to Australia to find the Bloods (the first vampires). Of course, nothing goes as planned and Rylee ends up battered and bruised.

All the while she must gather allies for the upcoming war with Orion. Meanwhile, Liam, Pamela and Milly, who apparently has been welcomed back into the fold, must put aside their issues to find and stop the humans that have mastered making guns that work around and against the supernaturals. Frank, necromancer, and Tara, troll, are the two newest black sheep to join the protagonist’s save-the-world squad. I could go on, but there's things that happen in this book that will definitely need to be addressed including the Blood of the Lost. I thought Rylee made a curious choice in what she would do between Faris and her sister. One could say that this was Rylee's growing as a character moment.
