A twisted killer is making his mark in London, leaving a trail of blood and devastation in his wake. It’s not only humans who are being targeted. Vampires, werewolves and pixies are in mortal danger too.

I’ve been called in to help with the investigation but I can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to the murders. Someone is playing a very sick game - and it’s up to me to put a stop to it.

A Killer's Kiss is the Sixth installment in author Helen Harper's Firebrand series. Detective Constable Emma Bellamy, of the London Supernatural Squad, finds herself out of her comfort zone when it appears that a mix of both humans and supernatural are being targeted by unknown killers. This time around, it is the Hackney Police who ask Emma to work with Detective Inspector Colquhoun and her boss Detective Chief Inspector Donald Murray.

Supernatural of all creed are suddenly experiencing a surge in popularity thanks mostly to the efforts of Emma who has made a name for herself in not only solving strange cases, but being the woman who can't die. The Supe Squad, not under the leadership of Detective Sergeant Owen Grace, has been getting all sorts of requests from all corners of London. Upon arriving on the first murder scene, Emma finds out that the killer scrubbed the place clean, but left only one clue. A kiss in the victims blood.

The story gets even more strange when a woman named Zara, who claims that she is a Cassandra, calls Emma Musketeer and offers up clues as to who the next victims may be. Trying to help, Lukas shares a lead that includes taking Emma to a possibly illegal anything goes club where betting on dares is the thrill factor, Emma learns that victims were members of the club. On top of all the craziness, a pixie is found dead and her former lover does not want to believe that peacefully. He keeps hounding Emma that he thinks it’s a murder not natural causes.

Bottom line is this; A Killer's Kiss is a twisted tale with numerous possibilities as to who the villains are and what their end games involves. While the humans, meaning Murray, seemingly treat Emma like crap, she is always there when things come an end. I am disappointed that the author killed off a character who seems to have been open to a friendship with Emma. Emma doesn't have many friends outside of Lukas Horvath. The ending chapter is a mind blowing, gut checking, cliffhanger that will leave readers blind sided. Be prepared for anything, and enjoy the ride you are going to
