If you thought you learned more about the dangerous and sexy alpha
vampire, Bones, in THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE, you haven't seen
anything yet...
Cat disappeared from Bones’ life to protect him, but this Master vampire will keep his promise to find her.
Two
hundred years of bounty hunting made Bones the best at what he does,
yet it's still taken him four long years to find Cat, the half vampire
now known as the "Red Reaper." There's a price on Cat's head, and not
even her job as a secret government agent can save her. Only Bones can.
But has time hardened Bones too much to love again? Or will his passion
for Cat burn through every obstacle—alive, undead, or otherwise—between
them?
From the author of the Night Huntress series comes a fresh,
new perspective on the origin saga of Cat and Bones, in Bones' own
words…
Both Feet in the Grave, by author Jeaniene Frost, is the 9th installment in the authors Night Huntress series. Both Feet in the Grave revisits the book 2 of the series (One Foot in the Grave) but this time shows the story from Bones’ POV. The unfortunate part for me in reading this novel, that it has been a very long time since I read this series. I didn't read The Other Half of the Grave, nor did I read Up From the Grave which was released almost 10 years ago! Here is what I do know. This book is told from the narrative of bones who has spent years trying to catch up to Cat Crawford.
As the story opens, there is a huge bounty on the Red Reaper, aka Cat Crawford. Two hundred years of bounty hunting made Bones the best at what he does, yet it's still taken him four long years to find Cat, the half vampire now known as the "Red Reaper." There's a price on Cat's head, and not even her job as a secret government agent can save her. Only Bones can. But has time hardened Bones too much to love again? Or will his passion for Cat burn through every obstacle—alive, undead, or otherwise—between them?
Bones is less patient in some ways and wants Cat
to admit her feelings and the truth. He pushes her more after their
separation but he still lets her make her own choices, no matter how
hard it is for him. He is furious with Ian and Annette who try to spoil
things with her.
There were funny times in this book, don’t get me wrong, but there is also a whole lot of smexy romance that the author is infamous for. Reading a novel from Bone's perspective is a treat for those who have read this series from the start. You get a little reminder of Cat's friendship with Denise as well as her marriage to Randy. And, let's not forget about the time that Cat was working for the government and had her own team but was still a target for Ian, who wanted her for himself.
