In the supernatural battle of good vs. evil, whose side are you on?

Mary Hunter isn't like everyone else, and she's known it for years.

From brutal fights in the supernatural realm with a demon-like presence, to battling obstacles in the halls of Stonehaven Academy, Mary knows she's different.

She just doesn't understand why.

A student at Stonehaven since kindergarten, Mary enters her freshman year as a typical good student and a promising member of the Saints soccer team.

Then it gets weird.

As her supernatural battles increase, she is drawn into friendships with others who seem to be as confused about their bizarre abilities and encounters as she is.
Now that Mary, Deacon, Ivy, and Scout have found each other, what is their purpose and why? And who gifted these newly-named Warriors, and how do they manage their powers and maneuver the confusing maze of school, family, romance--and the occasional demonic force?

Warrior Saints - Creator is the first installment in author Carla Thorne's Stonehaven Academy Saints series. Mary Hunter, Deacon, Russell "Scout" White & Ivy Van Camp are products of misfortune and victims of adversary. Each comes from a broken background and possesses unique abilities. When the four unite, their abilities are enhanced and are often times referred to guardian angels. Even though the story focuses on (4) different characters, Mary is the primary character. Mary is the girl who shouldn't be alive and she fights every night a darkness that wants her back.

Mary is the girl who learns a stunning secret in the end thanks to an enforcer named Sebastian. Sebastian claims that he's been protecting Mary since she died and came back to life. Sebastian has also been protecting the 4 from within the spiritual realm from the Destroyer which is an obvious play on good vs evil. As for the rest of the characters, Scout lost his entire family when they drowned in a flood; Deacon also lost his parents but escaped death; Ivy deals with her mothers mental illness issues while seemingly knowing when something is going to happen.

As a warning, I'd say this story was meant for an audience up to and including those in their first year of high school. This reads very young for someone as old as I am. Deacon and Mary are the oldest at 15, Ivy and Scout are the youngest at 14. Each of the four are called to be part of the calm not the chaos that is coming soon. Ivy deals with a bunch of girls who belong to a group called Purple Arrows. It's fair to say their goals are not exactly straight forward leaving Ivy to figure out how she can protect herself and help others like Trinity or is Trinity one of the Guardians that's supposed to help her?

Deacon is also a curious character. His family is creole and therefore they were into magical rituals. Deacon believes in the great Karmic or the Creator. When others are around, Deacon has the ability to heal injuries. Finally, Scout is like the Encyclopedia. He has so much knowledge at his fingertips that he's literally the one the group goes to for answers. One of my negatives is that not only is the book told in first person narrative, but all 4 characters as well. This book would have been better had it been third person.
